Competitive Request for Proposals Natural Gas Combined Heat and Power
Focus is now accepting proposals from business customers for financial incentives to complete natural gas-fueled combined heat and power projects. Technologies may include, but are not limited to, reciprocating engines, combustion turbines, backpressure steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators, microturbines, or other approaches to waste-heat-to-power, provided the heat is generated using natural gas. In addition:
Eligible applicants include Commercial, Industrial, Schools, Government, Agricultural, and Multifamily facilities served by an electric and natural gas utility participating in Focus.
Requested incentive cannot exceed 100% of the total project costs.
Projects must save energy (MMBTu) or reduce energy costs at the project site.
CHP system must be expected to operate at least 6,500 hours per year.
Applications must be submitted by October 31, 2026 and projects must complete by November 30, 2027.
